Lomaki Pueblo at Wupatki Monument
Lomaki Pueblo ("pretty house"), almost 7 miles northwest of Wupatki, was built on the edge of a 3/4-mile-long earth crack in the 1190s. There were nine rooms, and the building was two stories tall in places.
Less than 800 years ago, Wupatki Pueblo was the largest pueblo around. It flourished for a time as a meeting place of different cultures.
